Week 11

I had my first week below .500 last week, it happens. I am off to a 1-0 start this week by taking the Broncos to beat the Jets, that's a start.

Last Week 6-9
Overall 79-53

New York Jets(5-4)at Denver Broncos(4-5)- I did the pick on this game already, but just so I don't forget to add it in sticking it here. Broncos to win.

Jacksonville Jaguars(3-6)at Cleveland Browns(3-6)- The worst two offenses in the league battle it out in a low scoring, unwatchable game. Big defense won't keep the score down, but bad offense will. Browns over Jags 16-14.

Carolina Panthers(2-7)at Detroit Lions(6-3)- I like this game to be close. I don't think the wheels have fallen off the Lions after a bad loss in Chicago, and the Panthers really aren't as bad as their record indicates. I'm going with Detroit but don't be shocked in the Panthers hold the lead for a full quarter or even at half. Lions over Panthers 30-24.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers(4-5)at Green Bay Packers(9-0)- Pack goes for 10 against a Bucs team that is not playing very well. This game used to be a big deal back in the 90's when they had "Battle of the Bays" back when the Bucs were a good team with a dominating defense. Not this time. The Bucs are not the same team as they were last year and will struggle to keep up with GB. If the Pack jumps out quickly, game over. Bucs have got to contain the pass, but Rodgers is the clear cut MVP and completing over 70%. Packers 35-24.

Buffalo Bills(5-4)at Miami Dolphins(2-7)- After a fast start and even quicker cool down the Bills need to get to 6 wins and stay a step ahead of the Jets. This is a good time for them to do it. Miami has won a few against some rather sad teams, and I like Buffalo to make a run for January. Bills win 28-14.

Oakland Raiders(5-4)at Minnesota Vikings(2-7)- The Vikes are in need of a rebuild. The Raiders are building as they go, and are a work in progress. They won't have McFadden to run the ball so they'll put all their faith in Palmer. I do too. Raiders may struggle but will win, not a flashy or pretty game but a win is a win. Raiders 20-16.

Dallas Cowboys(5-4)at Washington Redskins(3-6)- The Cowboys are licking their chops, they can smell that top spot in the NFC East. The Giants are in a very tough stretch while the Cowboys could easily sail through the next 4 games. Washington always brings 120% against Dallas, and an upset here would not shock me but the Skins are too banged up. Cowboys are clicking right now and getting hot at just the right time. Dallas 27-17.

Cincinnati Bengals(6-3)at Baltimore Ravens(6-3)- I have no clue. I think the Ravens are ready to dominate and they stink up Seattle. But, the Bengals have a few injury issues, rookie WR AJ Green is out, he is the offense for this team and they have a few secondary injuries. I'd like to take the Bengals here, but I just can't. Ravens 23-17.

Seattle Seahawks(3-6)at St.Louis Rams(2-7)- I could not have been more wrong about the Rams, sheesh. Seattle is not a good road team, but St.Louis is not a good home team. Throw it up in the air and what do ya got? I'm going with Seattle in a tight one 23-21.

Arizona Cardinals(3-6)at San Fransisco 49ers(8-1)- I'm putting all my money on the 9ers right now, they proved they are the real deal by going blow for blow with the Giants last week. I think the Packers have to go 16-0 in order to lock up the #1 seed because the 49ers are as hot as they come. They do have to face Baltimore and Pittsburgh still, but who knows what this team can do. SanFran pretty much has the NFC West locked up and a win here brings their magic number to 2. Niners over Cards 24-16.

Tennessee Titans(5-4)at Atlanta Falcons(5-4)- The dumbest decision ever cost the Falcons a game against a division opponent and not just any opponent but the Saints. The Titans have a shot at taking over the AFC South with Texans QB Matt Schaub out the rest of the season. I'm still going with the home team here, against my better judgement. Falcons 30-28.

San Diego Chargers(4-5)at Chicago Bears(6-3)- The Bears are hot and the Chargers are ice cold. I really hope for the Chargers sake they lose. They need to lose to finally end this Norv Turner debacle and get a new coach next season. Meanwhile, they Bears have figured out how to play with the players they have on offense, only took them 3 years. Chicago 29-21.

Philadelphia Eagles(3-6)at New York Giants(6-3)- No Vick, no dream team, no playoffs, no matter. If you think the Eagles are going to lay down and die you are sadly mistaken. In Week 3 the Giants had a big 4th quarter comeback in Philly to get some revenge on the Eagles for their big comeback last season. Now the Giants must complete that revenge and defend their home turf. Sunday Night, the biggest stage is set for the best game of the week. The Eagles are looking for respect and to hopefully finish 8-8 but the Giants need to prove that they are not the same old Giants. After losing last week and dropping to 6-3 the talk started. Three times Coughlin has gotten this team to 6-2 and failed to win in the second half. Granted, they did finish 10-6 last season but that was not good enough for a playoff spot. They have the Saints, Packers, Cowboys and Jets up next, the Giants need to get to 7-3 and make a playoff run to keep Tom in New York, otherwise...San Diego will know who their coach will be next year. I don't see NY dominating, but I see them winning. I know, I never pick the sweep and I'm breaking the rules here, but with Vince Young at QB, in the Meadowlands, on Sunday Night....Giants 27-23.

Kansas City Chiefs(4-5)at New England Patriots(6-3)- The Chiefs are without their QB, the Pats are home after a big win against the Jets. I don't see the Chiefs even keeping this one close. I see NE being up 17-6 at the half and cruising the rest of the way. Pats win 31-16.

I think the Giants will win too. I would also point out that this five game stretch that begins tonight looks a lot less daunting than it did in September. The Saints are beatable, the Packers are bound to lose one eventually, the Cowboys only beat the weak teams and the Jets have been under-performing all year.

Feel better? ; )
