A little bit of Luck...

While I wait for the NFL to get their heads out of their asses let's make some speculations.

The next big time NFL QB (supposedly) is entering his senior year at Stanford. Every scout in the league and every analyst on the planet is saying this kid is going to be in the running with Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, and Joe Montana as the greatest QB of all time, that we shall see. In the meantime, let's take a look at where he may end up, the NFL teams that are awful and will need a QB desperately.

1. Minnesota Vikings- The Vikes will probably not be in the running, the D is too good. They will win at least 6 or 7 games, and if the NFL ever starts free agency and trades I'm sure we will see Donovan McNabb wearing purple next season. Rumor is the trade has been agreed on behind closed doors, since the teams are technically not allowed to trade at the moment. With Donovan they can be a 9 win team, so Minnesota is out.

2. Washington Redskins- A very likely spot. There is only one other NFC team who I think may lose more games than the Redskins and they also need a QB. It makes me wonder if Coach Shanahan wants to get his hands on another Stanford QB enough to blow some games. The Week 2 matchup with Arizona could be huge in deciding who gets that #1 pick. Both teams will want to lose this game because I think these will be the 2 NFC teams with the least wins. The Skins also play Buffalo and Miami, another set of teams who will want Luck.

3. Arizona Cardinals- This is the team I see landing Luck. The Cards are a mess and won't win more than 3 games. They have no QB at all but they do have one of the best WR's in the game with Larry Fitzgerald. Keep in mind also that Carson Palmer is looking for a new home, so do the Cards make a move for him?

4. Buffalo Bills- With a division like they have playing NY, NE and Miami twice a year the Bills could easily be a 5 win team, but that won't get you a number 1 pick. They can beat Miami who has no QB but does have a D and a running game.

5. Miami Dolphins- I've talked myself out of believing that this team will win less than 6 games. Sorry, Miami. Try again next time.

6. Seattle Seahawks- Need a QB but it won't be Andrew Luck. Although they won't be back in the playoffs this year they can win 6 or 7 games.

7. Carolina Panthers- They stink and Cam Newton doesn't make them any better. If the Panthers do land the number one pick they will take another player or trade down to the highest bidder. This could put teams like Oakland, Minnesota, Cincinatti and Cleveland in the running. I doubt this will happen, altho I'm sure if the Panthers control it they'd rather see Luck go to the AFC, good news for them is that no one in their division will be after him.

In the end I'm going to say Andrew Luck will remain in red after leaving Stanford, but will it be the Skins burgundy or  Cardinal red??
