Coaching hot seat

The Jacksonville Jaguars have struck a month before "Black Monday". They have let Jack Del Rio go already. His Jags are 3-8 behind rookie QB Blaine Gabbart, he may not have deserved it, but its done.
Black Monday is the day after the season ends when we see most coaching jobs end.
At pre season I named a few coaches who are on the hot seat and Del Rio was one, there are shocking names on the list now.

Andy Reid Eagles 4-7; I don't think they will drop Reid. He has been the most successful coach in Philly, has been to 4 NFC Championships and 1 Super Bowl. No rings. Will the failing "Dream Team" finally cost him the job? I'd be shocked.

Tom Coughlin Giants 6-5; Unless the Giants pull a miracle run and beat the Packers en route to a NFC East title he is gone. You can't milk one miracle forever, except for 07/08 when they won 4 straight, the Giants have 0 playoff wins in 7 years of Coughlin, well in the other 6 anyway.

Jim Caldwell Colts 0-11; I don't like him. I thought he was a horrible choice to replace Dungy in the first place. I know Peyton is gone, but even Norv could have coached one win out of this team.

Norv Turner Chargers 4-7; Turner should have been fired 3 years ago. Marty Schottenheimer had a 14-2 team, failed to win in playoffs and was fired. Turner has done nothing in 5 years, nothing. Goodbye Norv.

Tony Sparano Dolphins 3-8; Sparano being fired is the worst kept secret in the NFL, he knew from Week 1 he was gone and so did we.

Will any of these guys go right into Head Coaching again? Yes. If Reid and Coughlin are let go they will. Well, Good Ol' Tom may retire he is the oldest coach in the NFL at 65 years old and he's been to the top already.
Reid? Well, I'd take him in NY but he may head to warmer weather like Miami or San Diego. Also look for Brian Billick, John Gruden and maybe Bill Cowher try to come back into the NFL with some great jobs opening up.
If Caldwell is let go and the Colts have Luck and Manning who wouldn't want that cushy job? Billick, Gruden, Cowher, and Coughlin all have Super Bowl rings, no coach has two with two different teams so one of these guys could try to achieve that by visiting Indy.
Things can get interesting very quickly this NFL offseason.

Week 12

I had a great week last week to counter my sub performance the week before. I am starting out 2-1 this week by taking the Cowboys and Ravens, but lost with the Lions, it happens.

Last Week 12-2
Overall 91-55

Here were the Thursday Games

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions- I took the Lions and lost. I was surprised by the low scoring in the first half.

Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys- Dallas squeaked this one out, is Miami just better than I thought or is Dallas not that good, barely getting by these weak teams? I took Dallas

San Fransisco 49ers at Baltimore Ravens- I took the Ravens, a very defensive match up. This would make a good Super Bowl.

Now for Sunday's games...

Minnesota Vikings(2-8)at Atlanta Falcons(6-4)- The Falcons need to take advantage of the Lion loss this week and gain some ground for the Wild Card. As the standing are right now the Falcons are the 8th team in the NFC (Chicago 6 and Detroit 7), they will have to beat the teams that are beatable. I know Minnesota likes the new rookie QB Ponder, but I like the Falcons rejuvenated running game to be a big difference maker. Could be a blowout. Falcons 27-17.

Cleveland Browns(4-6)at Cincinnati Bengals(6-4)- The Bengals were sitting high at 6-2 then had to play Pitt and Baltimore. They no longer rule the AFC North but can play catchup with a divisional win here. Cinci 17-13.

Tampa Bay Bucs(4-6)at Tennessee Titans(5-5)- Sorry Tampa, you did show some guts against the Packers last week but I like what I saw out of Titans rookie QB Jake Locker last week. I think the Bucs are just too young of a team with too young a QB and Coach to pull themselves out of this spiral on the road against the Titans. Tennessee 23-21.

Carolina Panthers(2-8)at Indianapolis Colts(0-10)- Suck for Luck! Suck for Luck! Panthers 33-21.

Arizona Cardinals(3-7)at St.Louis Rams(2-8)- I like the guts that Arizona has, the Rams really haven't shown me anything. Cards to win 28-23.

Buffalo Bills(5-5)at New York Jets(5-5)- The Bills have gone from 5-2 to 5-5 and have been destroyed in all 3 losses. The Jets meanwhile aren't that great of a team, they have no running game and Sanchez is a mediocre at best QB. The Jets won the first matchup with a great defensive game, and with Buffalo not able to run the ball right now, I see the same scenario. The Jets secondary is the reason they have any defense at all, the LB and DL have not been good but they can beat the Bills without Freddie Jackson. Jets to sweep the lowly Bills 26-17.

Houston Texans(7-3)at Jacksonville Jaguars(3-7)- The Texans are without Schaub now, they are counting on Leinhart to lead the way. It won't matter with the way the running game and defense are playing. The Texans are locked in right now and QB is no problem for them right now. Texans 21-17.

Chicago Bears(7-3)at Oakland Raiders(6-4)- The Raiders are on a roll and ready to win the crappy AFC West, the Bears are clinging onto the last playoff spot in the NFC with 6 games to go and no Jay Cutler. Can they stay ahead of the Lions, Falcons and Giants without him? Maybe not, but they will give it their all. I still like Oakland to win this game and keep ahead of the Broncos (who will lose today). Raiders 24-20.

Washington Redskins(3-7)at Seattle Seahawks(4-6)- East teams don't usually fare well heading to Seattle and the streak continues. Seattle 28-26.

New England Patriots(7-3)at Philadelphia Eagles(4-6)- I'm pretty sure the Pats will come with more energy on offense than the Giants did last week and finally close the coffin on the Eagles horrible season. Patriots 31-24.

Denver Broncos(5-5)at San Diego Chargers(4-6)- I am taking the home team to upset, although the Chargers are a 6 point favorite. By the way, if you're a gambler (which I am not) I think you have to take the Broncos +6 today. A divisional game and Denver has all the faith in the world because of Tebow right now. The Chargers will win but only by 4 at most. Chargers 31-28.

Pittsburgh Steelers(7-3)at Kansas City Chiefs(4-6)- The Chiefs have acquired Kyle Orton from the Broncos but he won't play this week. This is another game where the line is suspect (Steelers -11) but it won't be a close one while KC has no QB. Pittsburgh won't kill them, but get a solid win. 27-14.

New York Giants(6-4)at New Orleans Saints(7-3)- No way do the Giants win this game. Not even a chance. The Giants were 6-2 but will soon be 6-6 with Green Bay up next, meanwhile, the Saints can be an inconsistent team. They have won 2 in a row and have a great homestand with NY and Detroit these next two weeks. They are a beatable team, but not by the Giants. Could be a high scoring game, if the Giants can get the problems on the offensive line fixed this week. Still, Saints crush em. Saints win 31-24.

Turkey Day Football

All right! The only time I like Thursday Football and we have 3 great games for once.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions- Maybe its because I dipped into the Egg Nog a little early or maybe because I'm just crazy but I am taking the Lions. I have no logical thinking for this, its just a feeling that I can't shake. Well, I do know that the Lions can score just as easily as the Packers, but, the Lions also have a better defense. This is going to be a high scoring game where both QBs rack up the yards and TDs. Let's say Lions tighten up NFC North with a 39-35 win over Packers.

Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys- The Phins are playing well right now and Moore is having a great November. The Cowboys can be a very up and down team, but I'm going with the home team once again. The complete opposite of the early game as far as scoring. I see a tighter battle with average scoring. Cowboys 23-17.

San Francisco 49ers at Baltimore Ravens- I don't think two brother Head Coaches have ever faced off before, but here Jim Harbaugh will take his 9-1 Niners into Baltimore. Could this be a Super Bowl preview? Maybe. I like what Jim has done with San Fran, this is a team that last season I thought would win 11 or 12 games but the Coach got in the way. The Ravens? Eh, they have had some big let downs on the road, this team could easily be 9-1 or even 10-0 but they are still 7-3 and sitting on top of the AFC North. I'm going with the home team once again. Ravens over 49ers 30-24.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Week review

I learned two things this week....

I did awesome at picking games this week and...

The same old Giants are back at it again! From 6-2 to 6-4 and staring at 6-6 with New Orleans and Green Bay coming up.
Here's how NY will miss the playoffs...

Saints (loss 6-5)
Packers (loss 6-6)
Redskins (win 7-6)
Cowboys (loss 7-7)
Jets( win 8-7)
Cowboys (win 9-7)

9-7 will not win the NFC East or get a wild card this year, not with Chicago,Detroit and Atlanta all ranked higher than NY right now.
Season over, goodbye Coughlin and hello Cowher. Let's go Giants 2012!

Week 11

I had my first week below .500 last week, it happens. I am off to a 1-0 start this week by taking the Broncos to beat the Jets, that's a start.

Last Week 6-9
Overall 79-53

New York Jets(5-4)at Denver Broncos(4-5)- I did the pick on this game already, but just so I don't forget to add it in sticking it here. Broncos to win.

Jacksonville Jaguars(3-6)at Cleveland Browns(3-6)- The worst two offenses in the league battle it out in a low scoring, unwatchable game. Big defense won't keep the score down, but bad offense will. Browns over Jags 16-14.

Carolina Panthers(2-7)at Detroit Lions(6-3)- I like this game to be close. I don't think the wheels have fallen off the Lions after a bad loss in Chicago, and the Panthers really aren't as bad as their record indicates. I'm going with Detroit but don't be shocked in the Panthers hold the lead for a full quarter or even at half. Lions over Panthers 30-24.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers(4-5)at Green Bay Packers(9-0)- Pack goes for 10 against a Bucs team that is not playing very well. This game used to be a big deal back in the 90's when they had "Battle of the Bays" back when the Bucs were a good team with a dominating defense. Not this time. The Bucs are not the same team as they were last year and will struggle to keep up with GB. If the Pack jumps out quickly, game over. Bucs have got to contain the pass, but Rodgers is the clear cut MVP and completing over 70%. Packers 35-24.

Buffalo Bills(5-4)at Miami Dolphins(2-7)- After a fast start and even quicker cool down the Bills need to get to 6 wins and stay a step ahead of the Jets. This is a good time for them to do it. Miami has won a few against some rather sad teams, and I like Buffalo to make a run for January. Bills win 28-14.

Oakland Raiders(5-4)at Minnesota Vikings(2-7)- The Vikes are in need of a rebuild. The Raiders are building as they go, and are a work in progress. They won't have McFadden to run the ball so they'll put all their faith in Palmer. I do too. Raiders may struggle but will win, not a flashy or pretty game but a win is a win. Raiders 20-16.

Dallas Cowboys(5-4)at Washington Redskins(3-6)- The Cowboys are licking their chops, they can smell that top spot in the NFC East. The Giants are in a very tough stretch while the Cowboys could easily sail through the next 4 games. Washington always brings 120% against Dallas, and an upset here would not shock me but the Skins are too banged up. Cowboys are clicking right now and getting hot at just the right time. Dallas 27-17.

Cincinnati Bengals(6-3)at Baltimore Ravens(6-3)- I have no clue. I think the Ravens are ready to dominate and they stink up Seattle. But, the Bengals have a few injury issues, rookie WR AJ Green is out, he is the offense for this team and they have a few secondary injuries. I'd like to take the Bengals here, but I just can't. Ravens 23-17.

Seattle Seahawks(3-6)at St.Louis Rams(2-7)- I could not have been more wrong about the Rams, sheesh. Seattle is not a good road team, but St.Louis is not a good home team. Throw it up in the air and what do ya got? I'm going with Seattle in a tight one 23-21.

Arizona Cardinals(3-6)at San Fransisco 49ers(8-1)- I'm putting all my money on the 9ers right now, they proved they are the real deal by going blow for blow with the Giants last week. I think the Packers have to go 16-0 in order to lock up the #1 seed because the 49ers are as hot as they come. They do have to face Baltimore and Pittsburgh still, but who knows what this team can do. SanFran pretty much has the NFC West locked up and a win here brings their magic number to 2. Niners over Cards 24-16.

Tennessee Titans(5-4)at Atlanta Falcons(5-4)- The dumbest decision ever cost the Falcons a game against a division opponent and not just any opponent but the Saints. The Titans have a shot at taking over the AFC South with Texans QB Matt Schaub out the rest of the season. I'm still going with the home team here, against my better judgement. Falcons 30-28.

San Diego Chargers(4-5)at Chicago Bears(6-3)- The Bears are hot and the Chargers are ice cold. I really hope for the Chargers sake they lose. They need to lose to finally end this Norv Turner debacle and get a new coach next season. Meanwhile, they Bears have figured out how to play with the players they have on offense, only took them 3 years. Chicago 29-21.

Philadelphia Eagles(3-6)at New York Giants(6-3)- No Vick, no dream team, no playoffs, no matter. If you think the Eagles are going to lay down and die you are sadly mistaken. In Week 3 the Giants had a big 4th quarter comeback in Philly to get some revenge on the Eagles for their big comeback last season. Now the Giants must complete that revenge and defend their home turf. Sunday Night, the biggest stage is set for the best game of the week. The Eagles are looking for respect and to hopefully finish 8-8 but the Giants need to prove that they are not the same old Giants. After losing last week and dropping to 6-3 the talk started. Three times Coughlin has gotten this team to 6-2 and failed to win in the second half. Granted, they did finish 10-6 last season but that was not good enough for a playoff spot. They have the Saints, Packers, Cowboys and Jets up next, the Giants need to get to 7-3 and make a playoff run to keep Tom in New York, otherwise...San Diego will know who their coach will be next year. I don't see NY dominating, but I see them winning. I know, I never pick the sweep and I'm breaking the rules here, but with Vince Young at QB, in the Meadowlands, on Sunday Night....Giants 27-23.

Kansas City Chiefs(4-5)at New England Patriots(6-3)- The Chiefs are without their QB, the Pats are home after a big win against the Jets. I don't see the Chiefs even keeping this one close. I see NE being up 17-6 at the half and cruising the rest of the way. Pats win 31-16.

Thursday Night Review

That may have been the single most unwatchable game since 1998 when the Giants beat the Redskins 10-7 in OT.

One defensive TD for the Jets. Sad. I know the Broncos have a fairly good defense, and they can be very aggressive, but still.

And Rex, what kind of asshole calls an all out blitz on a running QB? Do you have any game film on Tebow? What are you gonna do against Vick in a few weeks? Can you teach your DE how to contain? Or maybe have Bart Scott play spy? 8 in the box against the run is wrong, that it not how it is done.

I think all of Rex's talking has finally caught up to him. Why not just shut up until you actually win something? Andy Reid took the Eagles to three straight NFC Championships and lost all of them, but did he run his mouth about how unstoppable they were? Nope.

What is it about Tim Tebow? He is a terrible QB, he has no touch on the ball, he has bad footwork, at times it seems he has no clue what he's doing, but he wins. He is a winning football player not a winning QB. He said himslef "I am a football player first and a quarterback second".
Whatever he's doing, the Broncos are winning. And the Jets?? Terrible.

Thursday Night

I hate this stupid game, I always forget it

New York Jets(5-4)at Denver Broncos(4-5)- Denver has a shot at the division still. Shocking. The Jets? Eh, they'll be lucky to earn a Wild Card. Plus NY played on Sunday Night, now on 3 days rest fly to Denver to play against a run they can't stop. Denver 19-17.

Week review

The Ravens remind are the AFC counterpart of the Giants. They play the good teams well but don't show up for the weaker teams.

The 49ers are for real. They had their first match against a top NFC team and played brilliantly. There was no drop off for NY after last weeks win, they played well, the Niners just played better. They are 8-1 and have not played a divisional game yet.

The Packers are who we thought they were. I really thought the Vikes could play some offense and make this a real game, but they didn't even bother showing up. Add to the fact that Rodgers is the only choice for MVP right now and plays like it every week. Next up? The Bucs. Pack goes 10-0.

I didn't just learn this this week but...the Eagles really suck. The Giants have got a chance to make them 3-7 and knock them out of the playoff race. Must win.

The Bills have comedown to Earth. After a fast start, the Bills are back where we thought they'd be.

I still have no clue who will win the AFC West, but if the Broncos can win with Tebow completing two passes, I guess anything can happen.

Cinci is 0-1 against the big boys of the AFC North. Baltimore is next, could we see 0-2?

My AFC pick, the Texans, have lost QB Matt Schaub for the season. Tragic. They will now rely on Leinhart. But with the #1 defense and #1 rushing attack will it matter? The Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer and Pittsburgh beat Seattle with Ben going 10/22 for just over 100 yards and an INT. Can defense win a championship?

The Falcons have bigger balls than anyone, but they are only useful if you are not a moron. Shame.

The Eagles suck. Oh, I said that already.

The Colts suck. That's better.

Week 10

Can you believe that the season is steamrolling to the end already? And yet, there is still so much more to go. There are lots of great games this weekend, some great divisional matchups, and some great games to decide playoff seeding. You've got Lions/Bears, Jets/Patriots, Bills/Cowboys, Giants/49ers, Steelers/Bengals and so on...what a week.

Last Week 9-5
Overall 73-44

New Orleans Saints(6-3)at Atlanta Falcons(5-3)- The Saints have been rather up and down the last few weeks, they've gone W,L,W,L,W they have a tough three games starting here (ATL,NYG,DET) and need to get some stability. The Falcons have almost been feast or famine this year, granted they do have 5 wins but they have become one of the forgotten good teams in the NFC. I like how the Saints match up, but it is a divisional game and all stats go out the window. I'm going with the home team, I'm sure these teams will split and I'll take the home team in each one. Falcons over Saints 24-23.

Pittsburgh Steelers(6-3)at Cincinnati Bengals(6-2)- The Bengals, aside from maybe the 49ers, are the biggest surprise this season. Most people (including me) didn't think they would win more than 2 games, and here they are playing lights out defense and sitting on top of the AFC North. They also have not played the Steelers or Ravens yet this year, they had a very easy schedule to start. They have won 5 in a row and visit Baltimore after this game. I like Pittsburgh here, they are coming off a brutal loss to the Ravens and will be looking to show the Bengals who is still tops in the division. Steelers in a tight game 26-24.

St.Louis Rams(1-7)at Cleveland Browns(3-5)- What happened St.Louis? The Rams are on the cusp of being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention at Week 10. They would have to win their last 8 games and get a ton of help, I had much higher hopes for the Rams. The Browns have given me pretty much what I expected, a low win team but they play tough, even without the Madden-cursed Hillis (I actually like the Browns to get to 5-5 winning next two games). I'm taking the Browns in this one, the Rams are just hopeless right now. Cleveland 27-20.

Buffalo Bills(5-3)at Dallas Cowboys(4-4)- Dallas is a tough team to figure out, they have some very good defensive players and some explosive wide receivers but they can't seem to get it together. Dallas does have a terrible secondary, about as bad as New England's and the Bills love to throw. I think the Cowboys can stop the run with a good DL and LB crew but shutting down the passing game may be tough. I'm still going to go with Dallas here, in a close win. Dallas 21-17.

Jacksonville Jaguars(2-6)at Indianapolis Colts(0-9)- Call me crazy, and I know I said I wouldn't do it ever again this season, but I'm picking the Colts. Indy finally gets a win 26-21.

Denver Broncos(3-5)at Kansas City Chiefs(4-4)- This division has gotten as bad, if not worse, than their NFC counterparts. The one thing I can predict, no team from the West will win the Super Bowl this year. This game? I just don't know, this is a very tough week to pick games. I'm going with the home team, KC over Broncos 29-23.

Washington Redskins(3-5)at Miami Dolphins(1-7)- The Skins have crashed back to Earth after a quick start, the Dolphins have sucked consistently all year. Still, I see Miami pulling out a close win. Ugly game, may be a few turnovers to decide this one. Miami 13-9.

Arizona Cardinals(2-6)at Philadelphia Eagles(3-5)- What a stinker game we have here, the Eagles are trying to reach .500 and will have to do so without WR DeSean Jackson who has been suspended for this game. He has been throwing fits all season about getting a new deal and did not show for practice, didn't even call to explain his actions. In this game, I can really see the Cards winning...Kevin Kolb played well as a member of the Eagles and he will be happy to be home, plus the Cards have a decent running game, and Philly is prone to making a lot of 4th quarter mistakes. The Cards only have 2 wins, but they have played close games. Still, I think the Eagles will find a way to win, even though the team is falling apart. Andy Reid is a good coach and he knows if they get to 3-6 they will never win the division, he will pull out all the stops. Eagles squeak one out 28-27.

Houston Texans(6-3)at Tampa Bay Buccaneers(4-4)- I am jumping on the Texans bandwagon, hell, I picked them to win the AFC. No Andre Johnson again, but that is not slowing this team down a bit. I'm just not impressed by the Bucs and the addition of troublesome DT Albert Haynesworth does not add to anything. Texans 30-21.

Tennessee Titans(4-4)at Carolina Panthers(2-6)- Panthers are banged up on defense( the defense sucks anyway) and Newton is listed as questionable. Titans try to keep up with Texans with a 20-14 win.

Baltimore Ravens(6-2)at Seattle Seahawks(2-6)- Ravens. I just don't see how the Seahawks can win this game, they are outmatched in every aspect against Baltimore. Crazy things do happen but not this one. Ravens 33-20.

Detroit Lions(6-2)at Chicago Bears(5-3)- The revenge game for Chicago. I don't think the Lions are getting the sweep on the now surging Bears. At home, on the grass with Forte playing like an MVP, coming off a big win and trying to keep up with Green Bay. Chicago gets the win, 27-24.

New York Giants(6-2)at San Francisco 49ers(7-1)- The Niners are playing very well, they are running over everyone and they are stopping the run very well. New York is coming off the biggest win this season. It was a lift the Giants definitely needed heading into a brutal schedule. Here's the problem for San Fran, they win by stopping the run. They hold teams to an average of 74 yards a game, well guess what? When NY runs for 74 yards, they win. NY is not a running team this year, they have an awful running attack and have been winning with the pass game and defense. They made Tom Brady look like, well, Alex Smith last week. They pressured him into 2 INTs and forced a fumble, look for them do try and do the same with Smith this week in trying to make him look like, well, Tom Brady. Going across the country for a game that could decide who gets the 2 seed and a bye in the playoffs is a tall order but I like the Giants chances here. NY 26-23.

New England Patriots(5-3)at New York Jets(5-3)- The Pats have lost two in a row, and all anyone could talk about last week was how the Pats don't lose two in row. Now, everyone is saying the Jets cannot win because the Pats don't lose three in a row. Well, why not? Who made this rule? I know NE won the first matchup and I never pick a sweep, unless it is rather obvious. I'm sticking with my rule here, I don't think the Jets are anywhere near as good as Pittsburgh or NYGiants but I can't break the law. Jets over Patriots 28-24.

Minnesota Vikings(2-6)at Green Bay Packers(8-0)0 Here is one of those few times that I will pick the sweep. Although, the Vikes are looking better with Ponder at QB I just don't see them being the first team to beat the Packers. I do see weakness in the Packers defense at times, but they know how to finish games out and hold on for the win. Pack goes 9-0 with a 24-13 win.

Thursday Night Football

I totally forgot about this stupid new tradition. I hate Thursday football, it is so stupid to add another day and on a channel that most of America doesn't even get.

Oakland Raiders(4-5)at San Diego Chargers(4-5)- I can't believe that the Raiders let Denver run all over them, and McFadden is still out last I heard. Even though the Chargers aren't playing very well themselves, I will take them to win. Chargers take division lead with a 26-19 win at home.

Sunday review

The only review I have right now is that once again Eli Manning leads the Giants to victory down by 4 with under 2 mins to play against the New England Patriots. The only pick I'm happy to get wrong!
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Week 9

Okay, so I missed out on putting my picks up last week. I did have them written out but I won't count them towards my total because in fairness they weren't made public and therefore not official (thems the rules).

Last Week (week 7) 7-6 (not very good but still above .500)
Overall 64-39

Too bad I can't count my Week 8 picks because I did very well, but there were some lopsided matchups. Let's get right into Week 9 because I will also have my mid season redoing of the playoffs.

New York Jets(4-3)at Buffalo Bills(5-2)- The Bills have been a big surprise this year. The Jets have been less than stellar but are hanging in there in a competitive AFC East race. Bills are 4-0 at home this year, but the Jets always seem to find a way to beat them. I think the Jets can win this game, and will win this game to make the AFC East that much tighter. Jets over Bills 26-21.

Seattle Seahawks(2-5)at Dallas Cowboys(3-4)- Dallas can get to .500 and help the 9ers clinch the NFC West (yes, the Niners could win the division before Thanksgiving with 2 wins). The Seahawks are just a bad team, I give them no shot of beating Dallas. Dallas wins 28-19.

Atlanta Falcons(4-3)at Indianapolis Colts(0-8)- The Colts should just go for it, just lay down and go 0-16. Falcons win 29-21.

Miami Dolphins(0-7)at Kansas City Chiefs(4-3)- After starting 0-3 the Chiefs are on a roll and looking to win the division again. Miami may be a worse team than the Colts and will compete for 0-16. Chiefs make it five in a row, 23-13.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers(4-3)at New Orleans Saints(5-3)- The old split rule binds me here, the Bucs took one already from the Saints and won't do it again. Saints are coming off a brutal loss to the Rams, and will come out looking for a fast start. Bucs can hang, but I like the Saints at home. NO 30-26.

San Fransisco 49ers(6-1)at Washington Redskins(3-4)- The cross country trips are no problem for the 49ers, they've come east to beat the Eagles already. The Redskins started the season hot, but now are a hot mess. San Fran to get to 7 wins 27-14.

Cleveland Browns(3-4)at Houston Texans(5-3)- I really wanted to like the Browns this year, but they just aren't getting it together. The Texans may still be without their big WR Andre Johnson but they won't need him. Texans 24-17.

Cincinnati Bengals(5-2)at Tennessee Titans(4-3)- The Bengals are playing incredible defense right now, and rookie QB Andy Dalton is playing very well. I think they win this game, call me crazy but I am drinking the Bengals kool aid. I am cautious because the Bengals have not played Pittsburgh or Baltimore yet, that will be a tough 4 games, but I like them to win the games they are capable of winning (if that makes sense). Bengals over Titans 20-16.

Denver Broncos(2-5)at Oakland Raiders(4-3)- Carson Palmer came into the game against the Chiefs and looked awful, but that was on short notice and without really getting to work with his new team. I like the Raiders in a big way against the Tebow led Broncos. Raiders crush the competition 29-12.

New York Giants(5-2)at New England Patriots(5-2)- The Pats are coming off a loss, the Pats have won 20 straight home regular season games, the Pats haven't lost at home to an NFC opponent since 2002 (Packers), the Giants won't have WR Hakeem Nicks, RB Ahmad Bradshaw or C David Baas, the Giants can't stop the run. I'd really like to pick NY here, but I can't, no way. I think NY can hang because the Pats secondary is awful, this could be a shootout, which is exactly how Brady likes it. Pats over GMen 35-30.

St.Louis Rams(1-6)at Arizona Cardinals(1-6)- I really liked these teams to do way better. This game is very tough to pick because they are division rivals and are both struggling. I'm going with the Rams who just got a huge first win over the Saints last week. Rams win 28-23.

Green Bay Packers(7-0)at San Diego Chargers(4-3)- There is a 3 way tie in the AFC West and I think the Chargers will be the odd team out. The Packers are just on too much of a roll right now, they will lose eventually, but the Chargers won't be the team to do it. Packers over Chargers 26-23.

Baltimore Ravens(5-2)at Pittsburgh Steelers(6-2)- The Ravens crushed the Steelers to open the season, and since then, the Ravens don't look so good. They are getting wins but they just don't look good, meanwhile the Steelers have turned it around and are on a roll. Ravens and Steelers split in a Pitt win. 21-17 Steelers.

Chicago Bears(4-3)at Philadelphia Eagles(3-4)- I know the Eagles have gotten some wins but I don't think they can handle Matt Forte of the Bears. This kid does it all, he is the Bears leading rusher and receiver and reminds me a bit of when the Eagles had Brian Westbrook. Forte is the kind of guy that is big trouble for an Eagles defense that has some issues at LB. The Vick vs. Peppers matchup will be great to watch too, in the end I like Chicago to put the Eagles down. Chicago 26-24.

Okay, now to fix my playoff scenario's.....

Here's what I had for the AFC Playoffs in August

Houston Texans(6) at Pittsburgh Steelers(3) (Steelers win)
Baltimore Ravens(5) at San Diego Chargers(4) (Ravens win)

Pittsburgh Steelers(3) at Indianapolis Colts(2) (Colts win)
Baltimore Ravens(5) at New England Patriots(1) (Pats win)

Indianapolis Colts(2) at New England Patriots(1) (Patriots win)

Here was my NFC in August

New York Giants(6) at Green Bay Packers(3) (Packers win)
Atlanta Falcons(5) at St.Louis Rams(4) (Falcons win)

Green Bay Packers(3) at New Orleans Saints(2) (Packers win)
Atlanta Falcons(5) at Philadelphia Eagles(1) (Falcons win)

Atlanta Falcons(5) at Green Bay Packers(3) (Packers win)

New England Patriots over Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl.

So, let's get the Colts, Chargers, Rams and Eagles out of there are get this more realistic...
AFC
Cincinnati Bengals(6)at Houston Texans(3) (Texans win)
Buffalo Bills(5)at Oakland Raiders(4) (Bills win)

Buffalo Bills(5)at Pittsburgh Steelers(1) (Steelers win)
Houston Texans(3)at New England Patriots(2) (Texans win)

Houston Texans(3)at Pittsburgh Steelers(1) (Texans win)

NFC

Atlanta Falcons(6)at New Orleans Saints(3) (Saints win)
Detroit Lions(5)at New York Giants(4) (Lions win)

Detroit Lions(5)at Green Bay Packers(1) (Packers win)
New Orleans Saints(3) at San Fransisco 49ers(2) (Saints win)

New Orleans Saints(3)at Green Bay Packers(1) (Packers win)

Super Bowl

Green Bay Packers over Houston Texans.

This year is so crazy, I think the playoffs could be a total crapshoot, who knows maybe we will have a Bills/Lions Super Bowl, or Bengals/49ers...anything can happen.
